Service to Amtrak

Be truly multi-modal when traveling! There are bus routes that service local Amtrak stations and the 6 trains travelling between Raleigh to Charlotte daily also have free bike racks. Get across North Carolina without having to step foot inside your car.

Bus-to-Train Connections

Using local transit to get to your local Amtrak station is a great way to reduce the stress that comes with travelling. Be sure to plan your trip based on your starting point and destination.

Durham Amtrak Station

From the Regional Transit Center (RTC) catch the route 700 to the Durham Station.

Walking Directions: Walk 1 block on Chapel Hill Street, and then take a left on W Main Street. The station will be on your left. (approx. a five minute walk)

Cary Amtrak Station

From the Regional Transit Center (RTC) catch the route 301 (during peak hours- 6am-9am; 3pm-6pm) or the 303 (midday service 9:30am – 3pm),  to the Cary Amtrak Station.

Raleigh Amtrak Station

From the Regional Transit Center (RTC) Take the Triangle Transit route 100 to the downtown Raleigh CAT bus station (Moore’s Square). From here, catch the CAT Route 7 South Saunders, Route 11 Avent Ferry, Route 21 Caraleigh or Route 36 Garner Station bus and ask the driver to drop you off at the Amtrak station at 320 West Cabarrus Street.
